Leisurely stroll

Quickly, after Old Scab I activate this plateau as well. So far the most-most easiest "hike", or more like a walk in a park. Driving only a mile further up from Old Scab trailhead I reach the top of the mountain. Here is a big open space. Park the car in the shade and start to collect this giveaway six point.

A pleasant activation nearly any time of year near Draper, Utah.

Peak 6001, OR | Oct 2013

Summit:
W7O/CN-078

This yet unnamed peak deserves a good name as it's a very worthwhile activation. It's a bit out of the way but very quiet compared to nearby Lookout Mountain and the views on a clear day of Mount Hood are excellent. These are directions from the NORTH - this road is suitable for HIGH CLEARANCE vehicles that you don't much care about.

Another highly recommended hike and activation - this one in the Clackamas River drainage.

Peak 3495, OR | Dec 2013

Summit:

Enjoy bushwacking? Like to climb over (and under!) a maze of large, downed trees? We've got a great SOTA summit for you in the Clackamas River area.

Huckleberry Mountain, OR | Nov 2013

Summit:
W7O/WV-050

One of the most gorgeous hikes I've taken in Oregon, it's clearly popular during the 'summer' season but we had it all to ourselves this spectacular November Sunday. Note that there are four "Huckleberry Mountain" in the Oregon ARM - one of them is also in WV and is also 2 points - make sure you get yourself to the right one.

SOTA Activation: Tahquitz Peak, Riverside County, California - November 14, 2013 - "Fall Into The Blue"

Summit:
W6/CT-007

Activation of Tahquitz peak, Riverside County, California - 8,828 Feet, 2,692 Meters.

On vacation with my wife in Southern California, it was possible to combine hiking with Amateur Radio / SOTA.  Based in Palm Springs, California, we ranged throughout the San Jacinto Mountains and Joshua Tree National Park for several days of excursions.

5194 - Wallowa Co, OR | November 2013

Summit:
W7O/NE-237

5194 is very close to the two Findley Buttes and it would be very easy to activate all three on the same day (but see K7ATN's entry for Findley Buttes West as access is a bit ambiguous).

4940 - Wallowa Co, OR | November 2013

Summit:
W7O/NE-240

Peak 4940 deserves a better name - but for the time being it's an easy to reach SOTA summit - if you are already in Wallowa County in the very northeast corner of Oregon.

First snow hike of the season, with an activation of "Krell Hill" in Spokane.

Summit:
W7W/WE-021

Krell Hill is a 3600 foot peak to the south-east of Spokane. It's also known as Tower Mountain for reasons that are obvious to those from the area. The tower complex looms over the City of Spokane, spanning most of the ridge to the south-east of town. It hosts 3 major TV stations and numerous other transmitters. Access to the hill is either from a gated road to the south-west, or from the trail system of the Iller Creek Conservation Area to the north or southeast. Iller Creek has many hiking and biking options.
