SOTA Activities

I prefer to activate but will sometimes chase if I see a Spot on Sotawatch. I use a KX3 when backpacking and SOTAing and operate mostly CW. Antennas are: Homebrew vertical dipole (simular to a BuddiStick but lighter and a PVC Pipe coaxial dipole for APRS and 2M FM QSOs. Revised 5/18/2013.

First licensed in 1963. In 1975 took time off from ham radio to raise family and persue career. Relicensed in 2002. I recently retired from 40 years in telecommunications and radio communications. I am a former mountain climber and continue to backpack around Mt Rainier and the WA Cascades.
