N/A Here's a drive-up activation on the way to the coast. A GPS will be very handy to get you to the summit. Head out west on Highway 26 from Portland where your turn south at Milepost 38 to go 3.0 miles into the small village of Timber, Oregon.
Just over the bridge you'll turn right onto NW Cochran Road and go about 2,7 miles to veer right onto Wheeler Road. You'll proceed on the main track about 5.3 miles (with one veer left onto Fire Road Rd - pictured) where you'll head up a short road to the left and go several hundred feet to the summit. There's a large turnaround here with some small trees around the perimeter for helping to set up antennas.
You might consider doing nearby Round Top, W7O/NC-015 when you are out that way.
