Most important thing is that Green Diamond only opens their gates certain times of the year. These roads aren't open off Clover creek rd until about hunting season, I think September. I don't know exactly when they re-close but around November 1.
The trek I did was part road and then up through the timber. I think there was a bit of view to Klamath through the trees. I also think we noticed we could have drove up the road if we wanted to. Guessing 2mi RT from where we parked, but you might cut it in half driving one of the west side roads up. I just can't remember which one or if both were drivable. I'll take better notes next trip, but hard to time right with the closed gates.
