UPDATE: I've done this a few times by taking the blocked road down to the switchback up the ridge for an easier more gradual climb. Yesterday 4/8/2024 the road has so much windfall it was not easy. I still went up that way but came straight down to the parking area. The switchback road is about .8 mi up, the short cut down is about .2 miles, but steep and a bit crumbly.

Started climbing this one at what looked to be a trail that would go up to the top. Instead it just kept wrapping around the hill with no gain so I sidehilled it up. Like the one I did in the morning, not easy. I came down on the more open ridge that is more gradual and ends pretty much at the "road" (it is no longer driveable) and just walked back to my truck on the road.

Did this one following W7O/SC-258. Sorry I didn't keep track of road info details. Some of the roads do not show as going through on some maps but they do.  I continued past the first summit I think on 39-5-1.0 Thompson Ridge, until I reached a fork in the road.  Turned left, I think its Panther Gulch Rd. 39-5-1.1 until the road ends at the base of summit. The road access was obvious to me, well traveled. This summit is about 8 mi from the turn off 238, SC-258 was probably at about 5mi. This is an amazing wildflower area in spring.
