2018 Discovery View Hill, WA | July 2019

Summit:
W7W/NO-192

2018 Discovery View Hill is a drive-up 2 point summit SW of Sequim.  While visiting family in the area, I was looking for a quick activation option in 2018.  Since 2018, more of the summit has been logged and the views were amazing from the south side.  You are able to see buildings from downtown Seattle, and have great radio line-of-sight to the Puget Sound and Canada.

Highwire, WA | June 2019

Summit:
W7W/SN-177

There have been quite a few activations for this 1 point summit in Snohomish County near Sultan, WA... With it staying light much later, decided to try an after work activation.

8/17/23 Update -  Not really a recommended summit due to new "Preferred Plan" with "sensitive" areas of park, along with varying topo maps regarding whether park is in the AZ...

Flagg Mountain, WA | May 2019

Summit:
W7W/OK-256

Flagg Mountain is a great 4 point short hike (or drive-up) summit located west of Winthrop, WA.  For a day trip, it could be combined with Goat Peak Lookout summit W7W/OK-107.

1164 Good Copy Hill, WA - May 2019

Summit:
W7W/SN-179

Sunny day in North Puget Sound, and was able to leave a bit early from work.  After mentioning wanting to do a quick SOTA, KV7DX suggested Good Copy Hill... since it was close to my home QTH, and relatively quick hike.  I've tried activating Good Copy Hill in the past, by approaching from the South...but there is not a good access point.  Use Heimer road, and follow directions below to access.

Baldy, WA (between Ellensburg and Yakima), April 2019

Summit:
W7W/CW-095

A rainy weekend in Western, WA led me to look for options on the Eastern side.  Tim (KG7EJT) had done Baldy a week prior, and looked like a great option.

Patterson Mountain, WA April 2019

Summit:
W7W/OK-275

After the North Cascades Highway opened, enjoyed taking a mid-week day to activate this summit near Winthrop, WA.  Spring is a great time as temperatures were in mid-60's, there was no snow, and some flowers were blooming.  Both WTA and AllTrails have great trail information, and links are provided below.  Trailhead is located about 15 minutes (7.8 miles) from main 4-way stop in Winthrop.  Boatlaunch & Trailhead parking is at the Northeast corner of Patterson Lake, and a Discover pass is required for parking at the boat launch.
