This is another summit I activated with my mountain bike and in this case that turned out to be a mistake as the bushwhack to the top is very steep, very thick, and not at all fun to do in bike shorts and shoes with spd cleats in them.
Wear long pants and sturdy long sleeves for this bushwhack. Consider bringing loppers and marker tape. Don't try to get clever on the descent, go back exactly the way you came up. There is no easier way down. The route to the North looks like it will be easier but it is not. It leads you right to a bushwhack through acres of thorns and devil's club.
It's a very easy and straightforward drive to the summit and all the information you need is there on a topo map. There are no surprises. I started the bushwhack at these coordinates: 45.91245, -122.06532
A high clearance vehicle will easily access the beginning of the bushwhack if you bring along a hand saw to get rid of the 6" diameter tree partially blocking the road.
The summit itself is a scramble where you're going to need to use your front paws to steady yourself. This is not a good summit for big or old dogs.
The view from the summit is fantastic. There is space (barely) for a 67' wire but on the day I was activating I found myself sharing the summit with ants who were crawling up my shirt so activated as fast as I could with the AX-1 whip from a standing position. Seriously, the ants up here are almost as fierce as the mosquitos!
It's not an easy summit, but if you don't try to get clever on the descent, you'll be okay.
